A site mapped from directly above

Pharos Data · Mapping and 3D models

Your whole site, measured from above.

A map that is a month old is already wrong on a working site. A Pharos station flies your mapping runs on a schedule and turns them into maps, elevation models and 3D models your engineers can open and measure. When the job needs survey accuracy, the same station flies the Matrice 4D, built for exactly that.

The problem

Your site changes faster than anyone surveys it.

A survey crew walks the site once, the drawings go out, and the ground keeps moving. Cut and fill, new roads and stockpiles change the site every week. Decisions get made on a picture that stopped being true a while ago.

  • Surveys booked weeks ahead for a site that changes daily
  • Drawings nobody trusts because the ground has moved
  • Walking dangerous or large areas to take measurements
  • Maps from different contractors that do not line up

What we offer

What the station does for you.

01Orthomosaic maps

One sharp, measurable image of the whole site, stitched from hundreds of photos and corrected so distances and areas on it are true.

02Elevation models and contours

Surface and terrain models and contour lines for drainage, earthworks and design, rebuilt on every flight.

033D models of structures and ground

Buildings, pits, slopes and plant as models you can turn, measure and share, not just look at.

04Survey accuracy when it counts

The Matrice 4D, with its mechanical shutter and RTK positioning, flies the runs that need survey accuracy, with ground control where the job calls for it.

Who uses it

One map, many teams.

The same dated, measurable map serves the whole site.

01Engineers

Surface models and contours for drainage, earthworks and design.

02Project managers

A dated map every week or month, to see what changed and where.

03Planners and owners

A true picture of the site for approvals, leases and planning.

04Security

The same map shows new tracks, fence breaks and encroachment around the site.

One flight, three layers

The photo, the ground, the lines.

One mapping flight gives you a measurable photo of the site, a model of the ground, and the contour lines drawn from it. Switch the layer, then drag across to compare.

A quarry from the air: benches, haul roads, stockpiles and a flooded pit
The same quarry as an elevation model: the pit floor deep teal, the benches stepping up through green and sand to the high ground in amber The same quarry as contour lines over a faded photo, every fifth line heavier

When the job needs survey accuracy, we fly an aircraft built for it.

The Matrice 4D. Mechanical shutter, RTK positioning, ground control where the job calls for it.

The aircraft

The Matrice 4D, built for mapping.

Mapping camera20MP

A 4/3 sensor with a mechanical shutter, so every frame is sharp at speed.

Ground controlOptional

DJI rates its mapping camera for surveys without ground control points, with RTK on. We add control where the job calls for it.

3D capture5directions

Oblique capture from five directions in one flight, for 3D models of walls, faces and buildings.

Flight time54min

Maximum, per battery. Rated for 12 m/s of wind, IP55.

Reach10km

Dock 3 operating radius, recharging from 15 to 95% in 27 minutes between flights.

DJI's published specifications for the Matrice 4D and Dock 3. DJI does not publish a mapping accuracy figure for the 4D, so we state accuracy per job, with ground control.

How we do it

How it works on your ground.

  1. 01A station on siteThe station that keeps watch at night flies the mapping runs by day.
  2. 02The same flight lines every timeEach run repeats the last one, so every map lines up with the one before it.
  3. 03Processed the same wayEvery capture goes through the same method, so the numbers compare from one month to the next.
  4. 04Delivered in your formatsMaps, models and contours in the formats your engineers and software already use.

Built by Pharos

Our own software, working for you.

The aircraft and station are DJI hardware. What makes them one service is software we wrote ourselves. Here is what it does for you on this kind of site.

Pharos softwareFrom flight to report, the same way every time

Our media pipeline checks, sorts and processes every capture as it comes off the aircraft. Each report is built with the same method as the last one, so month on month the numbers compare.

Pharos softwareOne system, not a pile of apps

Our own software sits between the DJI hardware and everything above it. The station, your alarms, the pilots and the reports run as one system, and it is ours to maintain.

Pharos softwareEvidence that holds up

Our evidence chain seals every clip and every flight log the moment it is captured, with the pilot, station, time and position attached. If anything were changed afterwards, it would show.

What you get

What lands with you.

  • An orthomosaic map of the site, dated and measurable
  • Elevation models and contour lines
  • 3D models of the areas you choose
  • Every map lined up with the last, so change is easy to see

Questions

Mapping and 3D models, answered.

How accurate are the maps?

For planning and progress, the standard runs are plenty. When you need survey accuracy, we fly the Matrice 4D with RTK and set ground control, and tell you up front what accuracy the job will get.

What formats do you deliver?

The formats your team already works in. We agree them at the site assessment so nothing needs converting on your side.

How often can you map?

As often as the site needs, because the station lives there: weekly on a busy site, monthly on a quiet one.

Can it map at night?

Mapping needs daylight. The same station keeps watch at night and maps by day.
